Song of Songs 20: Unstoppable Praise

Continuing her praise of the Bridegroom, the Bride's voice resonates with passion and undeterred allegiance to her beloved.   This praise, in the midst of suffering, has echoed down through history as multitudes have declared the worthiness of the Lamb.  Whether it be Paul and Silas singing while chained up for the gospel or a group of believers gathering underground to worship, the praise of the Bridegroom is unstoppable.   No matter where you are, may the praise of God become your anthem and the love of God the fire that burns in your heart.  May your confession be the same as the bride: "He is altogether lovely!" 

Song of Songs 19: Chief Among Ten Thousand

In response to the daughters of Jerusalem, the bride overflows with her greatest song of praise.   Her bold praise is a powerful weapon in the battle for faith and resolve in the midst of the fire of testing.  Within each description of the glorious Bridegroom is a truth that empowers us to hold fast till the end.  May we all become intimately familiar with these qualities that make the Bridegroom "altogether lovely".  Be encouraged to praise Him with your whole heart!

 

Song of Songs 18: Without Offense and In Love

In this podcast we look at the way the bride handles unjust treatment.  In this part of the story she undergoes the test of enduring wounds that are inflicted not because of disobedience but rather because of her obedience.   Through it all she remains lovesick, desperately longing to be reunited with her beloved.  Her example of standing in the midst of crisis with an unoffended heart is one to be emulated and admired.  

 

 

 

Song of Songs 17: In the Garden

Reminiscent of the Garden of Eden, this fellowship of the Bride and Bridegroom in the garden is greatly delighted in. The voice of the bride and the bridegroom are spoken of often in the Bible.  The presence of these voices of joy are a sign of blessing while their absence is a sign of God's judgement.  Here in chapter five we hear "the voice of my beloved He knocks".  The voice of the Bridegroom is calling out today and blessed are all those who hear Him!   As we hear His voice we are able to "follow the Lamb wherever He goes" even if that means following Him into the unknown. Song of Songs 16: Winds That Awaken Worship

Continuing His praise of the bride, the bridegroom speaks glowingly of her virtuous life.  In this podcast we unpack some of the poetic phrases that are found in this section of the song like "garden enclosed", "fountain of gardens" and the meaning of the brides beckoning of the north and south winds.  Our prayer is that the Spirit will blow upon your heart and that these truths will encourage your delight in the Lord!  

Song of Songs 15: The Power of a Willing Heart

In this part of the song the bride says "I will go".  Her willingness to go inspires the Bridegroom to call her a bride for the first time in the Song.  The Hebrew words translated "I will go" have a powerful connection all the way back to when God called Abraham "to go".    The ravished heart of God is expressed without reservation in this chapter.  Be encouraged to know more of the deep love Yeshua has for you as you listen to this podcast.  You are made spotless by His blood!

Song of Songs 14:Teeth Like Shorn Sheep?

Breaking the silence, the bridegroom speaks lavish praise over the bride in this chapter.   The last time he spoke directly to her was in chapter two when he called her to rise up and go with him over the mountains.    Initially she would not follow him but eventually her longing to be with the one she loves compels her to leave the comfort zone behind and respond in obedience.   This sacrificial obedience awes the bridegroom.   He is overcome by her devotion.   

Learn the significance of hair like goats coming down a mountain, teeth like shorn sheep, a neck like a tower and other unconventional romantic metaphors.   Be inspired by the depth of God's love for you!

 

Song of Songs 13: New Baby and the Love-Paved Palanquin

The Bridegroom has come through the wilderness and has come to the wedding day.  This is the day that Revelation speaks of when it says " Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come."  Carried along in a palanquin the Bride and Bridegroom are enveloped in love.  At the height of poetic language, the interior of this carriage is said to be "paved with love".    In Israel the month we are now in, the month of Elul is made into an acrostic spelling "Ani L'dodi V'dodi Li", "I am my beloveds and my beloved is mine".   Hear more about this special month in this podcast.  Also hear the story of our new baby "Gilead Mori" and how his name connects to the Song of Songs.

Song of Songs 12: A Glorious Procession

In this section an unnamed onlooker sees the approaching Bridegroom and says "Who is this?"  Spoken with a sense of wonder and awe; this question should characterize and fuel our own hunger for the Lord.   Psalm 24 expresses the same intrigue when it says "Who is this King of glory?".   We can keep asking the question "who is this?" and never exhaust the glory and wealth of who He is.   He is an unending fountain of fulfillment and hope.  Though wrought with potential dangers, the King's procession is well guarded by warriors who will ensure the safe arrival of the whole company to the wedding feast.  Entrust yourself to Yeshua.  He will lead you safely on into the glorious place He has prepared for you.

Song of Songs 11: Nights of Intense Longing

The sweet fellowship that she had enjoyed earlier has now come to an end.  She is left in her bed of comfort but inside she is crying out for closeness to the Bridegroom. Though distraught at this break in relationship, the compromises that led to this separation will not have the final say in her life. She resolves to obey the call to rise up in pursuit of the One her soul loves.   Be encouraged to get out of bed and join your Savior in the restoration of the world.  The fields are ripe and waiting!
