This praise, in the midst of suffering, has echoed down through history as multitudes have declared the worthiness of the Lamb. Whether it be Paul and Silas singing while chained up for the gospel or a group of believers gathering underground to worship, the praise of the Bridegroom is unstoppable. No matter where you are, may the praise of God become your anthem and the love of God the fire that burns in your heart. May your confession be the same as the bride: "He is altogether lovely!"

Reminiscent of the Garden of Eden, this fellowship of the Bride and Bridegroom in the garden is greatly delighted in. The voice of the bride and the bridegroom are spoken of often in the Bible. The presence of these voices of joy are a sign of blessing while their absence is a sign of God's judgement. Here in chapter five we hear "the voice of my beloved He knocks". The voice of the Bridegroom is calling out today and blessed are all those who hear Him! As we hear His voice we are able to "follow the Lamb wherever He goes" even if that means following Him into the unknown. Join us as this drama unfolds.

Initially she would not follow him but eventually her longing to be with the one she loves compels her to leave the comfort zone behind and respond in obedience. This sacrificial obedience awes the bridegroom. He is overcome by her devotion.

The Bridegroom has come through the wilderness and has come to the wedding day. This is the day that Revelation speaks of when it says " Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come." Carried along in a palanquin the Bride and Bridegroom are enveloped in love. At the height of poetic language, the interior of this carriage is said to be "paved with love". In Israel the month we are now in, the month of Elul is made into an acrostic spelling "Ani L'dodi V'dodi Li", "I am my beloveds and my beloved is mine". In this section an unnamed onlooker sees the approaching Bridegroom and says "Who is this?" Spoken with a sense of wonder and awe; this question should characterize and fuel our own hunger for the Lord. Psalm 24 expresses the same intrigue when it says "Who is this King of glory?". We can keep asking the question "who is this?" and never exhaust the glory and wealth of who He is. He is an unending fountain of fulfillment and hope. Though wrought with potential dangers, the King's procession is well guarded by warriors who will ensure the safe arrival of the whole company to the wedding feast. Entrust yourself to Yeshua. He will lead you safely on into the glorious place He has prepared for you.

The sweet fellowship that she had enjoyed earlier has now come to an end. She is left in her bed of comfort but inside she is crying out for closeness to the Bridegroom. Though distraught at this break in relationship, the compromises that led to this separation will not have the final say in her life. She resolves to obey the call to rise up in pursuit of the One her soul loves. Be encouraged to get out of bed and join your Savior in the restoration of the world. The fields are ripe and waiting!
